Neymar rant: UEFA investigating Paris Saint-Germain star’s ‘go f*** yourselves’ post following Manchester United defeat
Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is being investigated by UEFA over comments he made in the wake of Manchester United’s Champions League defeat of the French club last week.United triumphed against all the odds in Paris to knock Thomas Tuchel’s side out Europe’s premier club competition, winning 3-1 on the night to secure progression to the quarter-finals on the away goals rule.Marcus Rashford completed the remarkable comeback after two Romelu Lukaku goals1

The Red Devils’ winning came goal from the penalty spot in second half injury time, with referee Damir Skomina awarding the spot kick after a lengthy VAR review. The general consensus is that PSG were terribly unlucky to be punished when the ball struck Presnel Kimpembe as he jumped to block a hopeful Victor Lindelof shot. Neymar missed last week’s match through injury but was on the sidelines visibly angered by the penalty decision, and he took to social media platform Instagram after the full-time whistle to blast the officials.“This is a disgrace,” the 27-year-old wrote. “They put four people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR.“There is no penalty. How can it be a handball when it hits his back! Go f*** yourselves!”

UEFA have now confirmed they are investigating Neymar’s comments.A statement from European football’s governing body read: “In accordance with the Article 31 (3) (a) of the Uefa Disciplinary Regulations, Uefa has today announced that it has appointed an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector to conduct an investigation regarding the comments made on social media by the Paris Saint-Germain player Neymar Junior, following the 2018/19 Uefa Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United FC, played on 6 March 2019 in France.”Manchester United will discover their Champions League quarter-final opponents later this week, with the draw due to take place on Friday after this evening’s final round of 16 fixtures.
