The statistics show that football-related arrests in English and Welsh football throughout the 2017/18 season were down 6 per cent on the previous campaign, falling by 96 arrests to 1,542.This comes in at 3.5 football-related arrests per 100,000 attendees, with the most common offence resulting in an arrest public disorder (36 per cent), followed by violent disorder (20 per cent) and pitch incursion (12 per cent).Fewer arrests were made in the Premier League than in the Championship – which recorded a stunning 591 – but the top-flight was ahead of both League One and League Two.
