Warnock could receive a Football Association charge over his comments about the officials following the controversial defeat to Chelsea.He had said in his post-match interviews: “The best league in the world and probably the worst officials at the minute.”But Warnock insists he is right to criticise refereeing standards in the English game and claims they have gone backwards under referees’ chief Mike Riley, head of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited.“I always thought Mike Riley was a manufactured referee from day one,” Warnock said.“I don’t think he’s changed since then. He’s been coached manufactured, almost like a robot.“He knows everything about the rules, but I feel these people struggle to understand the game and the human element.“A lot of referees are like Mike Riley and that’s why I think we have gone backwards. Warnock went on to confirm he wouldn’t be fielding the club’s Under-23 side against Pep Guardiola’s men, after threatening to do so in the aftermath of Sunday’s game.Cardiff play City on Wednesday, and Warnock has promised their title rivals Liverpool his side will be going all out for victory.“I wont field a weakened side against them dont worry and Ill make sure my lads are right up for this one,” he said.
