Born in London to parents from Trinidad and Tobago, Sancho spent most of his childhood at Watford. He subsequently began to force a move away from the club. On 31 August 2017, Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of 8million. The club immediately awarded him the number 7 shirt which had been vacated by Barcelona-bound Ousmane Dembele.He had to wait for his opportunities with Dortmund. Sancho became the first Englishman to play a Bundesliga match for the club when he made his debut in October 2017 against Eintracht Frankfurt.His first goal in professional football came on April 21 earlier this year.
